The Boujad rugs are a beautiful, colorful and unique part of the Moroccan tradition. These rugs are manufactured by the Arab tribes plus the tribe of Arabised Berber tribe located on the foothills of the western part of the middle Atlas Mountains. In addition, the name of the rug comes from the Boujad town.
Different materials like textile scraps, cotton, industrial yarns and wool are used for manufacturing the Boujad rugs. Each rug as a unique design and pattern contains checkerboard fields, Rabat rug motives, Berber motives and beautiful abstract patterns and designs.
